Create bootable USB keys with a choice of operating systems and other tools.
 Developer: Pen Drive Linux                                                                                                Description:

YUMI is a very useful application for those who work with computer maintenance or simply you are curious about other operating systems.

It is a Bootable USB drive creator. What sets this application is that you can add multiple OSes and distributions and then choose which to run.

To make this possible, YUMI offers a menu of options at boot time. So you can quickly choose which operating system to install via USB. The application brings more ease, which is automatically downloaded the ISO images of OSs to be added to the device.

No need installation

The cool about YUMI is that it need not be installed so that you can use the facilities provided. After you finish downloading the file, just double click on the executable downloaded, read and accept the terms of the contract that is displayed.

The next step is to create a bootable USB stick full of tools and operating systems. The advantage of not needing to install YUMI is that you can use it on any computer, even if the machine is blocked for adding applications.

Pendrive bootable

The first step in using YUMI is to choose the drive where the files should be installed; task that can be held in "Step 1: Select the drive letter of your USB device." One must be very careful not to choose the wrong drive and end up deleting the data from another USB stick or even an HD.

Further to the right of the screen you see the option "Format X: \ Drive", which, if checked, causes the stick to be formatted before files are transferred to him. The second step is to choose which operating systems and tools are inserted.

The options list is quite large, bringing all major Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Fedora, Xubuntu, OpenSUSE and others) in various versions and various tools for partitioning, antivirus and backup hard drives. All this is very well organized into different categories, which makes it easy to find what you want.

For systems that the files are placed on the stick, you must have the ISO image of them on the computer. If you do not have, just check the "Download the iso" application that automatically downloads the images. Finally, click "Create" and wait until the process is finalized.

Now just restart your computer and to boot the machine by USB. A very simple menu and teaching will be shown, so you will have access to all tools installed.

our opinion:

Nossa Opinião
Above you read a full description about YUMI and functionality, now read what we think about the it.
YUMI is undoubtedly a great tool when it comes to creating bootable USB sticks. There is no secret in the use of the application, but you must be careful not to choose the wrong drive and end up deleting important data.

The application has no translation into Portuguese, which can bring some doubt to people who are not accustomed to using this type of tool. However, a few minutes playing with the interface to make everything clearer.

The legal YUMI is that it can run on any machine without problems, as well as save space on disk, not the tool must be installed so that resources are available.

One feature that draws much attention in the application is how quickly the stick is mounted and the files are copied. Just a few minutes are sufficient for each operating system is inserted into the list of application options.

Pros:

  • It takes up little disk space;
  • It don't needs to be installed;
  • It create bootable USB sticks rapidly;

Cons:

  • Nothing;
